Camilla Beach, South of Mackay in Queensland

Fantastic beach, at the right time of the year, Sept/Oct you might get to see the turtles lay their eggs. Clean and well kept.

Paradise by the waters edge
by: Julie

Paradise at your door step is the best i can describe Camilla Beach. Some of the sites are sandy, so best to get out and walk around first before deciding on a site. The campsites are all along the beach front spanning for a kilometre or so. Beware of the muddy flats when walking out at low tide as it can be difficult to make your way back. I can only describe this place as a must free camp site to see. RECOMMENDED.

Be wary
by: Robert

Long drop toilets are disgusting. They aren't very long any more. No running water. Very easy to get bogged in sand. But a very beautiful place.

Internet Booking
by: Anonymous

Please could we have internet booking as the campsite gets more popular it is becoming harder and harder to get in, especially if you have travelled a few hours to spend a couple days at this wonderful beach to find there is no where to put up the tent.
