Lake Lascalles, Hopetoun Victoria

Lake Lascalles is a beautiful man made lake that has been stocked with fish, (if you catch any, please throw them back, they are still a bit small). There are toilet amenities dotted around the banks.

It is free camping if you do not want to make use of the limited power supply. If you use the power supplied,a $15 fee in the honour box is the right thing to do.

There are bins, hot showers and toilets in this beautiful quiet setting.

You are able to walk to Hopetoun Centre (the shops),it is a quiet little town, that unfortunately is slowly dying due to drought. There is a good IGA that carries a multitude of supplies and a newsagent for the morning paper. We came from Perth WA, stumbled on this spot and camped for a week. There are no petrol stations but you are able to use the automated petrol supply machine if you have a credit card or Eftpos card. You will find this wonderful lake in the camps 6 book, and maybe even in the earlier issues.

Hopetoun, Victoria, does have a manned fuel station that also stocks gas. There is a 24 hour petrol station that is a card service as well. Thanks
