Niagra Dam

Kookynie has a great Australian Pub, Niagra is just west. An oasis in the wilderness has a picnic, swimming and camping spot for visitors and local alike. The dam took its name from the nearby town of Niagara, which was booming at the time of the dam's construction (have a look as it's a very interesting ghost town). Big enough for Caravans and motor homes, we always stop here if passing this way.

Great for wildlife and bird watchers, always peaceful, and is never crowded as the area at bottom of dam is huge!

Good site suitable for all size vans, drop toilets & fireplaces but take your own wood as not much avail. close by.
Below dam wall may provide more shade but up top is more scenic. Two bush walks marked for those wanting to explore.
Pub does not open until afternoon so check before expecting to go for a counter lunch & save yourself a trip.
Fuel at Menzies is self-serve, credit card only. While there pumps had airlock & would not function so make sure you can make next stop.
