Swifts Creek Caravan Park
by Ivan Freer
On the river right in town about 200m walk to shops or pub this is a great spot for the fisherman or 4wd enthusiast.
Camp fees are paid at the general store where you can also get all of your supplies. The bakery is run by a young couple and can they bake! Pies, cakes, bread all fantastic, a great place to stop for a cupa and a good old snot box the tastiest i have had.
The camp is good with powered sites and non powered, hot showers laundry there is also a large rotunda with four fire places and a kids play area. There are two levels: the lower is mainly for tents but we take the van down as we like to be close to the river. The upper level is mainly for vans with power and water.
The fees: well last time I was there I think we paid about $12 a night powered site. It's pretty basic but has all the main things. This is a great spot and is well worth staying at, there are so many things you can do from here and I forgot to say the pub meals are great too. We go here a lot with our 4WD club and have found the locals are great and very helpful.
